University Mat-Men Down Norwich by 27-0 Count--Freshmen Defeat Strong Andover Squad With 18-6 Score

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Three falls and four decisions gave the Crimson wrestlers a clean sweep over Norwich Saturday evening. The meet was one of the big features of the winter carnival at Northfield, Vermont, and over 600 spectators watched Coach Lewis' men down the local matmen. The score, 27-0, was one of the biggest ever piled up by a University team.

The result of only one of Saturday's matches was in doubt,--the Michelson-Kelly bout, which the former won with a time advantage of one minute and 45 seconds. Stearns, Captain Karelitz, and Hayne won falls, while Goldberg, Evans, and Bradford captured their bouts by decision.

Freshmen Down Andover 18-6

An 18-6 victory over Andover at Andover Saturday afternoon was the result of the Freshman wrestlers' second meet of the season. Losing only two decisions in six heats, the unexpectedly decisive Crimson triumph gives promise of an exceptionally powerful team this year.

Three falls were won by the Freshmen. B. C. Turner '27 downed Yamaguchi in 5 minutes and 31 seconds in the opening match, and after the defeat of H. M. Kullman '27 in an overtime match, J. C. Hinkle '27 won by decision, and Captain H. R. Wood '27 and D. H. Campbell '27 won falls. Blunt of Andover captured the last bout on decision from J. M. Dallavalle '27.
