DEMOCRATS MAY SWEEP COUNTRY

Buell Declares Third Party Would Give Them Easy Victory

"Although the strength of President Coolidge is based largely on his amazing gift of silence, he will be the logical nominee of the Republican party next fall. If a third party is formed, as is almost certain, and if the Democrats can find a true liberal, with the ability and the idealism of Wilson, the Democrats will sweep the country," said Dr. R. L. Buell talking to the Democratic Club last night at the Union.

"Davis has practically disqualified himself for the Democratic leadership by his conservatism", continued Dr. Buell, "and McAdoo will find it difficult to live down the association of his name with the oil scandal. Our only hope will be to find some man unknown at present, who is capable of handling one of the most difficult political situations in the history of the United States."
