All Freshmen on probation will receive letters next week from the Phi Beta Kappa Service Bureau informing them of the tutorial supervision of studies by men, now available, who have received high marks in fields of concentration--This will be the first time that the Bureau has directly tried to reach all first year men whose marks have been unsatisfactory.
Students who desire to take advantage of the service will be assigned tutors who will hold consultations with them and supervise their study. The bureau, however, will not give any reviews covering the substance of a course.
Men who have conscientiously cooperated with the Bureau in former times have, in almost every case, greatly improved their marks. Assistance is given in History, Government, Economics, German, English, French, and many other subjects. All service is free.
F. E. Bowman '24, chairman of the Bureau, will hold office hours in Thayer 33 Monday and Thursday from 4.30 to 5.30 o'clock.
