A freight car that was scheduled to arrive in Boston at 7 yesterday morning missed connections, was saunted onto several side-lines, and finally lost, with the result that the sets and costumes coming from New York for the first Hasty Pudding dress rehearsal were not to be found at 11 when the rehearsal was to begin. Photographers from Boston and New York daily papers were all on hand at 11, but the scenery and costumes were with the wandering freight car.
At 4.30 when the freight car was at last located, it was found that a trucking permit was necessary, since it was Sunday, before the cases could be moved. When this had been attended to and the equipment at last made ready, the rehearsal began, at 7.30.
