WILL RECORD I. C. A. A. A. A. DASHES BY ELECTRIC FLASH

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Mechanical officials at the finish tape will be one of the most novel features of the Intercollegiate track meet to be held in the Stadium on May 30 and 31. The new device, an invention whereby the finishes of the dashes and hurdle races are automatically recorded by electric light, was patented only recently and has been used on few tracks in this country.

The recording apparatus was received at the H. A. A. yesterday. When installed it will consist of a series of short tapes stretched from posts across each lane. Each tape is connected by underground pipes with a row of electric lights beside the track. As each tape is broken a bulb is flashed for the corresponding lane, indicating exactly the order of the finishes.
