PROFESSIONAL EDITOR TO PUBLISH REGISTER

The University Register, the directory of all undergraduate activities and organizations and the book frequently referred to as Harvard's Who's Who, will not be published by its own board of editors this year. In fact the latter no longer exists as a body.

Disgusted by the scarcity of candidates who reported last year in the competitions for the Register board and irritated by the lack of acknowledgment the undergraduates generally took of their work, the board of editors last spring resigned and refused to get out the book this Fall.

Realizing that at the present at least it is impossible to secure men to run the Register and draw candidates purely on an honorary basis, the Student Council last week voted to engage Herman E. Wiener '21 to publish the 1924-25 Register on a percentage basis.

Mr. Wiener stated last night that the work of compiling the contents of the book is already under way. The book will sell for $2.50 a copy this year and subscriptions will be taken all day today at the entrance of Emerson Hall. November 12 has been set by Mr. Wiener as the date upon which the new Register will be ready for distribution.

In the work of publishing the book, any additional help that is needed will be secured through the University Employment office in order to help needy students.
