NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Of the 31 candidates who reported for the soccer team last Wednesday, 19 have had some experience on the University team, while 12 are Sophomores who played on the 1927 squad last year. Captain W. T. Pattison '25, with two years' experience at halfback, leads the letter men who have returned, with W. R. Gerhardi Jr. '27 heading the list of recruits from the 1927 team, of which he was captain.

Practice has been held daily at Soldiers Field. So far they have been light and brief, with Coach White devoting most attention to conditioning and rudimental training in kicking and passing the ball. Special emphasis has been placed on certain formations which were outlined to the squad by Coach White in the practice last spring.

Light Scrimmages Already Started

Team A lined up on Wednesday, with Gerhardi and W. C. Fordyce '26 respectively at the right and left outside positions, K. B. Crooks '27 and G. D. Dorman '25, a letter man at right and left inside, W. E. Trevett '27 at center, T. R. Wickersham '26, J. E. Purdy '25 and Captain Patison at the halfback positions, J. A. MacKinnon '27 and J. J. Sullivan Jr. '25, a two-year veteran, at fullbacks, and R. H. Thomas Jr. '27 as goal tender.
