PHENOMENAL PLAYING PUTS R. T. JONES IN GOLF FINALS

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

R. T. Jones '24, playing brilliant golf, defeated Francis Ouimet yesterday 11 up and 10 to play, and won his way to the finals of the National Amateur Golf Championship now being played on the links of the Merion Cricket Club, at Ardmore, Pa.

The other finalist is George Von Elm, the Pacific Coast star, who defeated Max Marston, last year's champion, 7 up and 6 to play.

The final match will be played today, weather permitting, and if Jones continues playing the kind of golf that he has played throughout the tournament the chances of his becoming National Amateur champion, according to golf experts, are good.
