ZARAKOV TAKES POST WITH TEAM A BACKS

A backfield composed of Cheek, Crosby, Zarakov, and Miller with Chauncey alternating with Miller, played together all afternoon and seems likely to start the Yale game. Stafford, injured quarterback, will leave the Infirmary today and is expected to be in harness tomorrow, but it is doubtful whether he will be able to play Saturday. If he is forced to remain on the sidelines, it seems probable that Zarakov, often called Harvard's most feared reserve, will start a major contest for the first time. With him and Crosby at the halfback positions, the University eleven will possess two speedy, shifty lightweight carriers, who, should they once get started, are sure to give the Elis plenty of trouble.

The second-string backfield yesterday found McGlone directing Chauncey, Barbee, and Howe, with Puffer relieving Chauncey when the drop-kicker went to team A. Barbee has not figured in many games this season, but last year's Freshman pitcher is an excellent passer and a fair punter, and has come along rapidly of late. It will not be surprising if he sees action against the Blue.

Maher, injured in the Princeton game, was back at work yesterday, taking part in the punting drill. He started last year's game in the Bowl, but injuries have hampered him this season and he probably will not be in the lineup at the beginning of Saturday's game.

Hoague, who was hurt last Saturday, was back in uniform yesterday and will be ready to play against Yale. Daley, out practically all season with injuries, worked out with team C and will be able to take part against the Blue for a short while.

Yesterday's practice consisted chiefly of work against Yale formations. The backfield went against the scrubs, who exhibited the Yale defense, and later the blackshirt backs took the part of Eli carriers and demonstrated Yale plays.

C. C. Buell '23, captain of the last Harvard team to defeat Yale, was on hand yesterday at practice; but did no coaching. He handled the quarterbacks two years ago.
