It is not without relief that members of the University will read that the property at the corner of Mount Auburn and Holyoke streets has fallen into friendly hands, and observe that the once-flam boyant sign announcing the erection of a "Roosevelt Hotel" on that site has been removed.

In acquiring this property, Mr. Chauncey C. Stillman has shown the same intelligent and generous interest in the development of the University which he displayed in his recent purchase of Beck Hall, about to be replaced by an apartment house

In banishing from the immediate vicinity of the Yard two such dubious developments. Mr. Stillman has proved himself a true benefactor of the University.
