A week-end of house parties was marred for Williams by a Crimson victory when the Purple tennis team dropped five out of six matches to the University invaders last Saturday. Meanwhile the Freshman team was scoring a clean sweep in Cambridge over M. I. T. 1928 by winning seven matches.
The results of the matches played at Williamstown are as follows:
Singles-Whitbeck (H) defeated Marsh (W), 11-9, 6-2; Briggs (H) defeated H. Banks (W), 6-4, 6-1; Banks (W) defeated Perkins (H), 6-3, 6-4; Cummings (H) defeated Ferguson (W), 6-2, 6-4.
Doubles-Whitbeck and Briggs (H) defeated Marsh and Weber (W), 6-1, 6-2; Perkins and Cummings (H) defeated Banks and Baker (W), 6-2, 6-4.
In the Freshman singles matches with the Tech Freshmen, Reuter (H) defeated Benson (M I T), 6-1, 6-1; Sayles (H) defeated Hegedorn (M I T), 6-4, 6-3; French (H) defeated Palo (M I T), 6-2, 6-0; Dupertuis (H) defeated Jordon (M I T), 6-4, 4-6, 6-3; Reichenbach (H) defeated Russell (M I T), 7-5, 6-2.
Doubles-Reuter and Sayles (H) defeated Benson and Hegedorn (M I T), 6-1, 6-1; French and Dupertuis (H) defeated Palo and Jordon (M I T), 6-2, 6-3.
