UNIVERSITY SEXTET OPENS SEASON AT ARENA ON FRIDAY

Crimson to Meet M. I. T.--Freshman Aspirants Gather

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

When the University skaters square off against the M. I. T. sextet at the Arena on Friday night, the hockey season will get its 1926 start. This tilt is the only scheduled engagement for the Crimson before Christmas, although several strong Canadian teams may be met during the vacation. With a large number of experienced candidates reporting for daily practice, the prospects for a strong squad are exceedingly bright.

Freshman hockey will be launched at a meeting tomorrow night at 7 o'clock in Smith Halls Common Room. Coach E. L. Bigelow '21 of the University team will address candidates for the squad at that time. No coach has yet been chosen for the first-year skaters, but a choice is expected in the near future. Meanwhile, Coach Bigelow will direct the work of the Freshmen, which starts at the Arena on Wednesday.
