W. P. Locke '27 was elected President of the Harvard Chess Club for the year 1926-27, at the annual election held last night. The other officers of the Club were chosen as follows: first Vice-President, D. C. Stone 1M.; second Vice-President, B. J. Remes '28, and Secretary-Treasurer, F. R. Chevalier '29. The newly elected Executive Committee will consist of W. G. Campbell '27, F. N. Rich '29, and G. F. Gravell '28.

At the same time F. R. Chevalier '29 was elected captain of next year's team. The record of the chess team this year has been very satisfactory. The University players defeated Yale in a dual meet last fall, and in an intercollegiate tournament, in which Yale, Princeton, West Point and Harvard were entered, came second to Yale by one half a point.
