SECOND FRESHMAN CREW WINS IN INVITATION REGATTA RACE

Yesterday, the third day of the annual Invitation Regatta saw only two decisive races between the contestants on the Charles. These were in the senior eights, and in the senior single sculls.

In the contest between the eights the second Freshman boat, stroked by Greer, led two Union Boat Club shells and the third Freshman outfit across the finish line. The third 1929 boat and the first Union Boat Club crew finished in a dead heat two and a half lengths behind the winning shell.

In the contest between the senior single sculls, John Crooks won over a half mile course by a full six lengths, with E. R. Stabler 26, second, and H. R. Jones 26, third.

No official time was taken of the races, which were rather slow, due to the rough weather in the Basin.

A race was also held between the junior eights, but due to some difference of opinion on the part of the judges, it was not counted.
