Early next week the University basket ball squad will start scrimmaging in preparation for the game with Reston University on December 9. This is one of the earliest games that has been on the University schedule for a number of years.

Practice, which started after the Penn football game, two weeks earlier than is usual, has so far consisted in drills on fundamentals, with passing, dribbling, and conditioning exercises as the main drills. The scrimmage next week will mark the beginning of team play.

Captain J. N. Barbee '28 is the only letter man who has returned to the University this fall, but J. W. Baldwin '29, M. M. Green '28, R. L. Hatch '28, J. H. Lane '28, and A. W. Slocum '28, who were on the University squad last year, have returned, while H. T. Wenner '30, captain of last year's Freshman team, and J. H. Ward '30 are other promising candidates.
