$10,000 GIVEN FOR PRIZE ESSAYS ON CONSTITUTION

Vermont Ex-Governor Endows Contest Among Eastern Colleges

Under the will of P. W. Clement, ex-governor of Vermont, a trust fund of $10,000 has been established the income from which is to be used annually for a prize for the best thesis in support of the principles of the constitution and the first ten amendments.

This competition is open to the Juniors and Seniors of 18 New England colleges. The institutions named as eligible are Amherst, Bates, Brown, Bowdoin, Boston University, Golby, Dartmouth, Harvard, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Middlebury, University of Maine, Norwich. Trinity, Tuft's University of Vermont, Wesleyan, Williams, and Yale.

The award will be made in accordance with the decision of a majority of a board of judges. The presidents of the first three colleges mentioned will constitute this board, for three years, at the end of which period the presidents of the next three institutions will take office, and so on in rotation.
