1931 BASKETBALL AND POLO SCHEDULES OPEN

Two Freshman sports will get under way today when the Freshman basketball team meets the quintet from Tilton Academy in a game at 4 o'clock in the Freshman Gymnasium, and the First Year Polo team engages the mallet-wielders representing the Freebooters in a contest at 8 o'clock in the Commonwealth Armory.

The Freshman basketball players will start the game under a handicap, being minus the services of their two regular forwards. T. A. Farrel '31, one of the forwards, suffered a broken finger in the practice game this week with Cambridge Latin, and Robert Dutton '31, the other forward, will be out of the game because of illness.

The line-ups for the basketball teams follows: HARVARD 1931  TILTON Seeger, r.f.  l.g., Clark Johnson, l.f.  r.g., Baker Upton, c.  c., Butler Rex, l.g.  l.g., Holmander Foshey, r.g.  r.f., Dearborn

The first year polo team will open the official season of match play for the Charles W. Plummer Memorial Cup Commonwealth Armory League when it meets the Freebooters tonight. Before the vacation the players tied the Fifty-first Brigade artillery team by the score of 5 to 5.

In the game with the artillery, G. O. Clark '31 starred with a terrific driving shot which tied the score at 5 all in the next to the last chukker. E. K. Jenkins '31 played well in that game also despite an injured mallet hand. E. T. Gerry '31 is an important mainstay of the Freshman team.
