FRESHMAN ELEVEN ROUTS PREP SCHOOL OPPONENTS

Utilizing almost the entire squad, the 1932 eleven swept a defenseless St. Anselm's Preparatory School team before them to roll up a 40 to 0 score. The wealth of material to be found on the Freshman squad is clearly indicated by the fact that no let up in speed or efficiency occurred while the lineup changed from first to fourth string players, and the schoolboys appeared equally weak before every combination.

In an early season game the prep school players defeated the Second University eleven by the decisive score of 20 to 6. The consideration of this fact merely exemplifies to a greater degree the prospective strength of the entire Freshman squad.

The three most outstanding features of the games were a field goal kicked by W. B. Wood '32 standing on the enemy 30-yard line in the first quarter; a 60-yard run by J. W. Crickard '32 in the third period; and the spectacular handling of a pass and subsequent dash for a touchdown by W. A. Beyer '32, in the last quarter.

A strong offensive line, accompanied by a varied and deceptive passing game were material factors in so effectively putting the schoolby team to rout.
