Forrester Andrew Clark '29 of Boston, and Crispin Cooke '32 of Buffalo, N. Y., were elected captains of the University and Freshman indoor polo teams respectively, both of which see action tonight for the first time this season.
The University trio opposes the Danvers Club team, conceding them a nine-goal handicap, while the Freshman aggregation meets the horsemen from Troop C of the National Guard cavalry on an even basis. The latter game will start at 8.15 o'clock in the Commonwealth Armory, Boston, and will the played in alternate chukkers with the feature match.
Clark, who prepared for Harvard at St. Mark's, was one of the mainstays on last winter's trio, and in addition is a two-year veteran of the football team, captain of the 1929 crew, and played on the outdoor polo team last spring in the intervals of the crew season.
This evening Clark plays back, with his brother G. O. Clark '31 at No. 1, and E. T. Gerry II '31 at No. 2.
The latter two players were on the polo team which defeated the Danvers Club four at Soldiers Field in October by a score of 16 to 10, and are veterans of last year's Freshman team.
The Freshman trio that will start the game against Troop C will be S. A. Chanler '32, No. 1; Cooke, No. 2; and A. G. Howe '32, back. An alternate team consists of W. F. Luton '32, No. 1; A. F. Megrew '32, No. 2; and C. S. Tilden '32, back.
