All University football players who played against Yale in the Bowl on November 24 will gather at the Varsity Club at 1.45 o'clock today to elect the captain of the 1929 eleven.
The leading candidates for the place are J. E. Barrett '30, regular left tackle on the team this fall, R. H. O'Connell, '30, end, J. G. Douglas '30, end, W. R. Harper '30, fullback, and E. T. Putnam '30, quarterback. Harper and Putnam are veterans of two Yale contests.
A previous announcement stated that the election of the captain would not take place until the taking of the team picture next month. A clause in the constitution of the H. A. A. provides, however, that the choice, shall be made within three weeks after the close of the season.
Coach Arnold Horween '21 will not be in Cambridge for the election today, but will be present for the picture, when it is expected that he will announce his decision to remain or to resign as head coach.
