UNION RENEWS OLD DINNER TRADITION

Guest of Honor Not Yet Announced by Union Board--Will Be Outstanding Harvard Alumnus

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The annual dinner of the Governing Board of the Union in honor of a nationally prominent Harvard graduate whose name has not yet been revealed will be given this year on the evening of Wednesday, March 28, it has just been announced. This marks the revival of the practice, begun at the close of the war but omitted during the past two years, of giving undergraduates, especially members of the Union, a chance to meet the Harvard graduates who, in the opinion of the Board, have most distinguished themselves in some particular field. President J. R. Angell A.M. '92 of Yale and Eliot Wadsworth '98 have been among those Harvard graduates so honored.

Besides the guest of honor, the undergraduate vice-president of the Union will speak, as well as one or more faculty members. A speech is usually made by the president of the University and by some well-known outside speaker. Judge F. P. Cabot '90, president of the Union, will be the presiding officer.

This is the only formal social event of this kind in the University today, in which undergraduates can meet prominent graduates as well as members at the Faculty. Any members of the Faculty are invited to sit at the tables and meet the students.

The other members of the Governing Board, besides Judge Cabot are: H. W. Bragdon '28, vice-president of the Union; E. A. Whitney '17, assistant professor and chairman of the Board of Tutors in History and Literature; Matthew Luce '91, regent of the University; Mitchell Gratwick '22 and W. I. Nichols '26, assistant deans of the University; L. T. Grimm '29, chairman of the Debating Union; and Davison Sommers '26 and W. S. Stone '26, secretaries of the Union.
