HORWEEN DIVIDES FOOTBALL SQUAD

No Injuries Reported as Result of Regular Game-Two Similar Contests Scheduled for Next Week

The first scrimmage of the spring football practice was held yesterday afternoon at 3.30 o'clock on Soldiers Field. Approximately 40 men played in this initial game of the 1928 season.

Coach Arnold Horween '20 appeared pleased with the work and condition of his charges. Although a regular game was played no injuries of any kind were reported. Horween has planned to have three informal scrimmages of the type held today. The remaining two will be held some time next week.

The whole squad of over 80 players has been divided into two teams, the Army and the Navy. These teams are made up of all the available returning University team men and members of this year's Freshman squad.

The first teams as they are divided at present are as follows: Army; left end, S. C. Burns '30; left tackle, H. L. Levin '29; left guard, John Parkinson '29; center, A. B. Bigelow '30; right guard, J. N. Trainer '31; right tackle, G. P. Davis '29; right end, G. L. Lewis '30; quarterback, T. W. Giligan '31; left halfback, A. W. Huguley '34; right halfback, W. R. Harper '30; fullback G. N. Talbot '31. Navy: left end, R. W. Meadows '29; left tackle, J. e. Barrett '30; left guard, R. A. Stewart '30; center, J. H. Gilden '31; right guard, W. D. Ticknor '30; right tackle, B. McC MacArthur '30; right end, F. A. Pickard '29; quarterback, O. L. Winston '30; left halfback, F. S. Grant '29; right halfback, J. deF, Juubiu '31; fullback, J. W. Potter '30.
