The Boston Ethical Society announces two public meetings to be held under the auspices of the American Ethical Union, in Repertory Hall, 264 Huntington Ave., Boston. This Sunday at 10.30 o'clock, Dr. David S. Muzzey '93. Professor of American History at Columbia, will speak on "Liberty and Authority in Religion" Dr. Muzzey has been called the foremost American historian. His books have been tabooed by nationalists in Chicago and elsewhere, but are admired by scholars. He will consider such questions as,-"Should Catholics or Fundamentalists, or any group, even indirectly control our schools or colleges?-and how far should church, or state, control our reading and speech?

On Monday evening at 8 o'clock, also in Repertory Hall. "What Are the Moral Forces in Modern Life?" will be treated by three speakers: Dr. John Lovejoy Elliott and Alfred W. Martin both of New York, and Professor Kirsopp Lake of Harvard. Questions for them are "To what purpose is our material progress? How much and where are our moral and spiritual progress? How can we present the machines of western civilization being the masters of men?"
