There will be a meeting, which Freshmen interested in debating are invited to attend, at Harvard 1, tomorrow evening at 7.30 o'clock when plans for the organization of a Freshman debating council will be discussed.
Unusual interest has been shown in debating this year by the Freshmen, and the hastening of the organization of a Freshman council has been urged by a group of 1932 debaters. Several prominent debaters will address the meeting Thursday evening, among whom will be J. M. Swigert '30 President of the Harvard Debating Council and F. C. Packard '20. Assistant Professor of Public Speaking.
Offers of debates with nearby schools have been received and turned down because no Freshman organization has yet been formed. Challenges have been received from the Yale and Princeton Freshmen and it is expected that plans will be made for a triangular debate with these teams.
