Channing Portrait Given Today

A portrait of Professor Edward Channing, McLean Professor of Ancient and Modern History, will be presented to President Lowell for the University in the faculty room of University Hall today.

The portrait of Professor Channing, who retired recently after 40 years of uninterrupted teaching, was painted by C. S. Hopkinson '91. The men who are in charge of collecting the money necessary for this purpose are Professor Evarts B. Greene '90. United States Senator Hiram Bingham '01, and Professor S. E. Mcrison '08.
