CRIMSON TRIO TO RIDE IN INTERCOLLEGIATES

HARVARD RIDERS CARRY HEAVY HANDICAP OF 14 GOALS

It was announced last night, by Captain F. D. Sharp, coach of the University polo team, that the Harvard riders will enter the second Indoor Intercollegiate Polo Tournament, to be held in Squadron A Armory, of New York City. Although no definite date has been set, the event will probably take place in the early part of April.

The intercollegiate rating of the University trio is 14 goals, placing them in the Class A division of the tournament. The other college entrants; of which Yale, Princeton and Pennsylvania Military College rank as the leading contestants, must assume the necessary 14 goals, for they are not rated at more than 10 or 12. Captain F. A. Clark '29 carries a six goal handicap which ranks him as the highest scorer in intercollegiate polo circles.

The team, composed of F. A. Clark '29, G. O. Clark '31, and E. T. Gerry '31, has had a consistently brilliant record in the winter season, defeating every opponent by large scores. It is this fact combined with their extremely high rating which ranks them as strong contenders for the title.

The first Indoor Intercollegiate Tournament was held last year, on March 20 and was won by Pennsylvania Military College.

An open tournament is to be held directly after the Intercollegiates, in which the best teams of the country will compete for the National Championship. If the Harvard malletmen should emerge victors in the former event, it is quite possible that they may win the open tournament, thus establishing themselves as the foremost trio in indoor polo this season.
