MENORAH SOCIETIES TO PRESENT FOUR-ACT PLAY

L. N. PARKER'S "DISRAELI" WILL BE PRODUCED THIS YEAR

On Monday and Tuesday at Agassiz Theatre, the Menorah Societies of Harvard and Radcliffe will present "Disraeli", a four-act play by L. N. Parker.

The first production of the dramatic group of the Harvard and Radcliffe Menorah Societies was given four years ago under the leadership of L. H. Weinstein 3L, now President of the Harvard society who has the leading role in this year's presentation. Each year since, three one act plays have been produced by the combined group and this year for the first time a single long play will be given.

"Disraeli" is an historical costume drama of the eighteenth century, and, according to the playwright's preface, it "attempts to show a picture of the days in which Disraeli lived, and some of the racial, social, and political prejudices he fought against and conquered." Costumes are being obtained by the Societies from the Repertory Theatre of Boston, which are actually of the period of 1875, at which time the play is set.

The programs are being edited this year by B. C. Sigal 2L, and will contain articles dealing with Disraeli the man, as well as with the play and its well-known author. P. W. Winer 3L, who is stage manager, was formerly with G. P. Baker's famous 47 Workshop.
