SOPHOMORE CLASS CREW WINS BASIN MILE RACE

THIRD UNIVERSITY AND 150-POUND CREWS ENTRAIN TONIGHT

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

In the third day of the Harvard Invitation Regatta the Sophomore class crew yesterday won the senior mile race for eights by defeating the Junior class crew, the second Freshman crew, and the first and second Union Boat Club crews.

The Sophomore crew, with the same lineup with which it faced Yale Saturday, with the exception of John Wintringham '30 replacing R. L. Vaughn '31 at bow, will in all probability be kept intact as the third University crew which leaves for the American Henley this evening. If any more changes are made they will be as a result of the Sophomores' race with the University 150-pound crew over the Henley distance this afternoon.

Perkins to Stroke 150's

T. N. Perkins Jr. '31 was stroking the lightweights yesterday afternoon on the practice row and is slated to set the pace for that boat this afternoon in the race with the Sophomores. The class crew eight was beaten by the 150-pound boat last week, but the loss of Donough Prince '31 as stroke man for the lightweights will probably prevent the latter from repeating its performance against Yale on Saturday, and materially increase the chances of the Sophomores winning.

After the race both crews will entrain at the South Station at 10.45 o'clock for Philadelphia. The boats will row over the course twice tomorrow and once Saturday morning. The third University race is called for 4.30 o'clock, to be followed by the 150-pound race at an hour later, both the Henley distance on the Schuykill.
