FRESHMAN TRACK TEAM PICKED TO DEFEAT BLUE

With a nucleus of stars surrounded by a number of almost certain second and third place winners, the well balanced 1932 track team promises to avenge the defeats which have been administered to Freshman teams by the Blue Yearlings for the past 19 years when it meets the Yale Freshman aggregation at New Haven tomorrow afternoon.

E. E. Record '32, captain of the Crimson First Year team is practically certain of a first in both the high and low hurdles, his times in this season's meet surpassing some turned in by University performers. E. N. Core '32 and J. W. Crickard '32, his two teammates should also figure in the scoring in these events. Another outstanding star is N. P. Hallowell '32 captain of the Freshman cross country team last fall, whose time for the 880 has excelled any performed in University meets this season. His 1.56 3-5 in the University handicap meet bordered on the University record for this event.

A third luminary of the Freshman aggregation is G. W. Kuehn '32, whose 5 ft. 11 inches in the high jump and 50 foot heave in the shot-put are better than the best marks of the University team this season. His teammate, A. C. Draper '32 is also a stellar performer in the latter event, throwing the shot for a distance of 46 feet in the meet with Exeter last week.

Yale likewise boasts several outstanding athletes in the person of Avery and Taylor. The former, although incapacitated by a leg injury from taking part in the pole vault, his best event, is nevertheless good for a 130 foot throw in the discus. Taylor attains a 130 footmark in the hammer throw consistently.
