CRIMSON GOLF TEAM WINS FROM HOLY CROSS, 9 TO 0

University Players Have No Trouble Taking Most Matches--Baldwin Has Low Score for the Day

Playing in their first match of the recently formed College Golf League the University team defeated the Holy Cross players 9 to 0 at the Woodlawn Country Club on Saturday.

The majority of the matches were too one-sided to be very exciting, but in the singles both E. B. Murphy '31 and J. H. Ward '30 had to play very carefully for their victories. The match between Ward and Baxter of Holy Cross was especially close, being won by a beautiful putt on the last hole.

J. B. Baldwin '30 turned in the best score for the day's play, getting a 73. This is two over par for the course. Phillips Finlay '31 number one man on the team, played rather mediocre golf on the way out, but more than atoned for it on the second nine, coming in under par.

On Friday the team goes to New Haven to play Pennsylvania, and on Saturday they meet Georgetown and Princeton, also at New Haven.

The summary of Saturday's matches is as follows:

Two-somes: Finlay defeated Lee (H.C.), 4 and 3; Murphy defeated Whelan (H.C.), 2 and 1; W. P. Arnold Jr. '31 defeated Taylor (H.C.), 7 and 6; J. W. Filoon '29 defeated Earls (H.C.), 2 and 1; Baldwin defeated Kelly (H.C.), 7 and 5; Ward defeated Baxter (H.C.), 1 up.

Four-somes: Finlay and Murphy defeated Lee and Whelan (H.C.), 6 and 5; Arnold and Flloon defeated Taylor and Earls (H.C.), 8 and 6; Baldwin and Ward defeated Kelly and Baxter (H.C.), 5 and 3.
