Freshman Leader is Brother of Star on University Team--Intercollegiate Run Takes Place Here Today

New Haven, Conn., October 30--The Harvard University and Freshman cross country teams arrived at Bridgeport this evening, where they will spend the night before coming on to New Haven for the races tomorrow afternoon.

The Crimson University squad has had an undefeated season, winning from Holy Cross, 15 to 45, New Hampshire, 19 to 44, and defeating Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dartmouth in a triangular meet two weeks ago. The Yale harriers were recently badly defeated by Cornell in a dual meet. The Blue freshman team has not yet competed in any regular contests; the Harvard first year men have won all but one of their races, defeating Holy Cross, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Dartmouth, but losing to New Hampshire freshmen.

Hallowell 1934 Captain

Alfred Bowditch Hallowell '34, of Milton, was recently elected captain of the first year harriers. He prepared at Milton, where he was a member of the track team. He is 18 years old, weighs 136 pounds, is five feet, ten inches tall, and is the brother of N. P. Hallowell '32, of the University track and cross country teams.

Eight colleges have sent entries for the Harvard Intercollegiate Cross Country Run, which will take place this afternoon at 4 o'clock over the flat course along the Charles River. Northeastern has entered 41 men, Springfield 32, Boston College 18, Massachusetts Aggies 10, Boston University 10, Clark University 9, Holy Cross 8, Amherst 7
