J. P. Wernette, Instructor and tutor in Economics at Harvard, has been appointed as one of a commission of five financial experts who will examine the financial affairs of Peru under the direction of Professor E. W. Kemmerer, of Princeton University.

According to Mr. Wernette the commission, which will sail from New York City on Friday, January 2, has been invited to Peru by the government which has been in power there since the revolution of last summer.

After a through examination, during which, the commission is to be provided with a large local staff and the power to investigate the inner workings of the Peruvian government, it will submit a bill to the congress detailing the recommended reorganization.

Two years ago Mr. Wernette was on a similar commission which inspected the financial situation in Colombia, with the cooperation of A. L. Landman, consulting expert in Government Accounting at New York City.
