CUMMINGS WILL RUN ON MILE RELAY TEAM AT B.A.A. SATURDAY

With the return of F. E. Cummings '30 to eligibility, the chances of the University one mile relay team are considerably increased for its race with the Yale quartet in the B. A. A. games at the Arena Saturday evening. This will be the first meeting between the rival relay groups since 1926, and will be the only team competition with the Blue before the annual dual meet this spring.

Cummings' return will displace W. C. Rowe '31, who ran in third position on the victorious quartet which defeated Penn, Columbia, and Maryland at the Millrose games in New York last Saturday evening. Although it is not definitely certain in which position the other men will run, it appears now that V. L. Hennessey '30 will continue to be leadoff man, and Vernon Munroe Jr. '31 will again be in anchor position. E. E. Record '32 will be the fourth member of the group.

Two Mile Relay a Feature

Another feature on the program is the two mile relay in which the Crimson runners will compete against Boston College, Holy Cross, M. I. T., Bowdoin, and Bates. The real battle in this contest will be between the University runners, and Boston College, with the Eagles, undefeated thus far this season, slightly favored. Although Coach E. L. Farrell has not yet definitely announced his lineup for this race, with such stellar distance men on his squad as David Cobb '31, N. P. Hallowell '32, J. W. Fobes '32, and G. N. Barrie '32, he should be able to pick a quartet which will force the Boston runners to their utmost.

With the announcement that Hedges, member of the 1928 Olympic team now at Princeton, is to compete in the high jump and hurdles, and that Wolf and Avery of Yale, and Moody of Dartmouth are also enrolled in the former event, comes the promise that this meet, an invitation affair, is to assume an intercollegiate aspect.
