FENCERS CROSS SWORDS WITH STRONG ELI TEAMS

At 3 o'clock this afternoon on the basketball floor of Hemenway Gymnasium the University and Freshman fencing teams will cross swords with the Yale foilsmen in what should be two close matches. The only common opponent engaged by both teams was Army, which won from the Elis 10-7 and defeated Harvard 9-8. Yale has competed in nine matches and suffered only two defeats, while the Crimson has won in five of its six contests.

Have Won Five Matches

The University team's victories were won from M.I.T. 14-3, Bowdoin 9-4, N.Y.U. 10-7, the University of Pennsylvania 9-8, and Columbia 9-8. The Yale swordsmen, defeated by Army 7-10 and by the Sanford Saltus Club 7-10, scored victories over N.Y.U. 14-8, Navy 9-8, Cornell 11-6, Hamilton 11-6, the Yale Graduate Schools 12-9, and the Penn Athletic Club 12-8; they tied the Sanford Saltus Club 12-12.

The line-ups will be:

Harvard--foils, Wesselman, Cassidy, Allen; epee, Fiechter, Wesselman; sabre, Winter, Lawson.

Yale--foils, Potter, Busby, Walker; epee, Hill, Terrell; sabre, Canada, Allis.

Harvard Freshmen--foils, Kerlin, Yerkes, Regenstein; epee, Kerlin, Yatsevitch; sabre, Regenstein, Walker.

Yale Freshmen--foils, Ullman, Korsmeyer, Ferris; epee, Terrell, Jelkes; sabre, Thomas, Wispert.
