Riders Overcome Five-goal Handicap After Bad Start -- 1934 Loses by 5 to 4 1-2 Score

After giving the 101st Cavalry a five-goal handicap, the University polo team finally won from them 9 to 7 at the Commonwealth Armory Saturday night.

E. K. Jenkins '31 scored the majority of the goals against the 101st Cavalry. while Captain E. T. Gerry '31 and H. I. Nicholas '31 accounted for three goals between them.

In the first chukker. Jenkins made two goals while Gerry accounted for one. But outside of this spurt in the opening chukker the Crimson trio was not up to its usual good team work and brilliant individual plays that have featured its previous contests Captain Gerry was plainly not playing the excellent polo of which he is capable.

In the opening match of the evening with the 102nd Field Artillery, the Freshman polo team seemed to have won the same with a score of 4 1-2 to 4 when the final whistle sounded. but it was later discovered that the Crimson team should have allowed the soldiers a one-goal handicap making the result a victory for the 102nd Field. Artillery with a score of 5 to 41-2
