Two soccer games on Saturday at the Business School Field with Springfield and Exeter as the guests, resulted in a defeat and a victory for Harvard. In the first game an undefeated Springfield team celebrated its fourth victory by out-booting the University eleven 5 to 1, and although Harvard made the best showing that it has this year, the Springfield men were vastly superior in passing and shooting goals.
In the first quarter, Springfield scored three goals, but was held in the second by a strong Harvard offensive which kept them on the run, and which resulted in the only Harvard score. Two more points were tallied by the visitors in the third period, but in spite of this scoring, the game was by no means a run-away for the winners.
Following the University game, the Freshmen showed decided superiority by defeating the Exeter soccer team 6 to 1.
