1936 DEBATING COUNCIL WILL ORGANIZE IN UNION

University Council To Debate Before Freshmen in Union--Political Topic To Be Discussed Tuesday

An organization meeting of the 1936 Debating Council will be held in the Freshman Union next Tuesday, at which four present or former members of the University Debating Council will participate in a debate on the question, "Resolved, That Franklin D. Roosevelt Should Be Elected President."

P. B. Cohen '32, winner of the Coolidge Debating Prize last year, and A. E. Phillips, Jr. '34, Secretary of the Council, will combat the arguments of an affirmative team of S. M. Peyser '34, a former winner of the New York Times National Oratorical Contest, and D. M. Sullivan '33, president of the Debating Council and the Harvard Democratic Club.

Peter Bunziker '36, and Deric Nusbaum '36, members of the Union Committee, have charge of first year debating, E. M. Rowe '27 will coach the teams, with the assistance of several members of the University Debating Council.
