FOUR TOUCHDOWNS MADE BY VARSITY AGAINST JAYVEES

First String Center Runs Signals but Does Not Scrimmage--Nevin Excused For Divisionals

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Four touchdowns were scored by the Varsity yesterday afternoon in a regular scrimmage with the Seconds which had developed out of a line skirmish.

The scrimmage followed some intensive work on pass defense, blocking and pass throwing, and was intended chiefly as a test for the No. 3 backs. The A team was in about 20 minutes, making their one touchdown on three plays from their own 45-yard line: a 25-yard sprint by Crickard, a 10-yard gain by Nevin, and a Wells-Crickard lateral pass.

Team B Duplicates

With Grady taking the ball on two out of three plays, team B supplanted the first string and duplicated their touchdown. Two pretty runs by Grady and Barrett brought the ball inside of the Jayvees' five-yard line, where quarter-back Whitney finally took it over on the fourth down.

A beautiful 25-yard run by Pescosolido featured the showing of the C team against the Seconds, and the same back finally went over from the six-yard line. Locke and Ferry soon supplanted Hurlbut and Whipple, and Locke made a pretty run which Peter capitalized on shortly after by scoring the fourth touchdown of the day.

Hallowell, Nevin Out

Although Hallowell ran signals with the first team, he did not enter the scrimmage. Nevin was occupied studying for divisionals, while Gleason turned out in a white shirt.
