Over 60 Varsity and 30 Freshman candidates reported at a preliminary meeting at the Linden Street, squash courts, the former on Monday, and the latter yesterday, at 4.30 o'clock. Coach Cowles has drawn up a list of candidates, and is selecting tentative squads for both Varsity and Freshmen.

A Varsity and a Freshman tournament will be held beginning next Monday. The men who show up to the best advantage in these competitions will be added to the squad. Schedules are now being prepared by the manager, and will include many of the large eastern colleges. Arrangements are under way for Freshman matches with both Exeter and St. Paul's. As usual, several of the Varsity players will compete in the intercollegiate tournament, which will be held some time in February at Baltimore.

J. M. Barnaby '32, will aid Coach Cowles this year in supervising both the Varsity and Freshman teams. Barnaby was one of the stars of last year's championship team. For the remainder of this week, Coach Cowles will personally test all the Freshman candidates, in order to choose the men for the squad.
