FIRST ASSIGNMENTS OF 135 ROOMS ON APRIL 27

ENDICOTT STILL READY TO AID ANY CHANGE DESIRED

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

First assignments of rooms in the seven House units to members of the Class of 1935 will be announced on Wednesday, April 27, it was made known yesterday following a meeting of the Masters with A. C. Hanford, Dean of Harvard College. It will be impossible, Dean Hanford stated, to make all assignments before Monday, May 15; Wednesday's announcement will be made in order that men who have not obtained their first choices in any unit may interview Masters and senior tutors of other Houses before all rooms have been assigned.

Inter-House Dining

The House Masters in yesterday's meeting did not discuss the proposition, outlined in yesterday's CRIMSON, that when undergraduates eat in Houses other than their own no additional guest charge be imposed on the host who signs for the meal. "There has been no concerted student action in the matter," it was stated. The problem, it is expected, will be discussed in the near future, and the Masters "are prepared to act in accordance with the wishes of the House members as a body."

Lehman Hall officials have indicated that they will offer no objection to the carrying out of such a plan, A. L. Endicott '94, comptroller of the University, stating: "As far as this office is concerned, we are not against any move to allow inter-House dining. The matter is not to be decided by us. Decision lies with the House Masters. Whatever change they desire will have the support of this office."
