RUMOR SAYS PRESIDENT'S HOUSE IS STRUCK BY BOLT

A rumor that a bolt of lightning had struck President Lowell's house at 17 Quincy Street yesterday afternoon could only be confirmed by the absence of a number of bricks from the top of the chimney. Servants in President Lowell's home, asked if more serious damage had been done to the interior did not deny the rumor.
