SKING TEAM MEMBERS RACE ON NEW SKI TRAIL

Will Compete in Nansen Ski Club Meet On Washington -- Attempt To Have Sport Recognized by H.A.A.

Tomorrow afternoon four members of the skiing team will compete in the annual Nansen Ski Club race, which will be held this year over the new Mount Washington ski trail, H. B. Washburn '33 announced last night. The captain for next year's team will be elected after the race.

This will be the fourth meet the team has entered this winter, the three previous ones being the Dartmouth Winter Sports Carnival, the Hohegebirge Club race, and the Harvard down-hill skiing championship held on February 26 under the auspices of the Mountaineering Club.

In all of these races the team has been seriously handicapped by the absence of some of its best skiers, who have been prevented from entering the skiing races by other activities. In an effort to remedy this situation a movement is now on foot to have skiing officially recognized as a minor sport for which minor "H" could be awarded. The matter is now being considered by the Harvard Athletic Association.

The team that will race tomorrow will be composed of H. B. Washburn '33, H. S. Sise '34, A. E. Ritchie, Jr. '34, and A. M. Hatch '33. The race is being sponsored by the Nansen Ski Club of Berlin, New Hampshire.
