Varsity soccer will get under way tonight when candidates for next year's team meet in the Varsity club at 7 o'clock to discuss plans for spring practice. G. H. Damon '34, manager of the team, announced last night.
Actual practice will not begin until after the spring vacation, but the team desires to get started as soon as possible in order to be prepared for its three-game schedule in May and June. A game will be played with M. I. T. on Saturday, May 6. Two contests, will be held with semi-professional teams.
The team should be unusually good this year, since only two of last season's booters will be lost by graduation, and a good Freshman eleven will offer several candidates to fill these vacancies. In addition to this, there are nearly always a few, "dark-horse" candidates who have had little previous experience in soccer, and often these men turn out to be good natural players.
