Harvard Students To Vote on Divestment From Israel in Inaugural HUA Election Survey
From University Hall yesterday, announcement was made that the David A. Wells prize, a cash award of $500 for "the best thesis enbodying the results of original investigation in Economics" was given to P. W. Gates. Gates at the present time is a member of the Faculty of Bucknell University, Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. He received his Ph.D. from Harvard in 1930.
At the same time it was announced that the Sidney Thompson Fellowship, a stipend of $1300, was awarded to W. L. Keitt, of Bubbard, Texas, who has been doing research Work in the Law school for the last two years.
H. H. Burbank, David A. Wells Professor of Economics, is the chairman of the committee which selected the winner of the first award. The subject was "The Illinois Central Railroad and its Colonization Work."
