Laundry is now second only in importance to the baggage business which the Railway Express handles from colleges and schools according to W. A. Morris, city manager for Cambridge. While laundry shipments are constant throughout the year, baggage movements are particularly heavy at Christmas and Spring vacations.
A survey of over 100 colleges throughout the country has shown a strong increase in the number of students using the home laundry system and the Express company has been quick to develop the new business on a large scale. Students seem to like the pick-up and delivery service on both ends of the journey which this method of sending service offers. The popularity of the idea may also be partially based on the chance to send the bundle collect and receive it paid.
