Varsity contests in punting, passing, drop-kicking and place-kicking were run off yesterday, and when the dust had cleared one Junior, one Sophomore, and one Freshman stood forth as winners in the events. The number of entries was somewhat limited due to the Varsity and Freshman baseball games, and Freddy Moseley, who was considered a threat was unable to compete because of illness.

John Nesmith '38 who played regular fullback on the Freshman eleven this year won the punting, with a score of 269, beating Ashley G. Trope '37 by one point. Nesmith also took second in the place-kick and third in the drop kick.

Midget Tosser Top Passer

The passing was won by Billy Parquette, midget tosser on the Varsity this year, with 17 out of a possible 18 points, while Shaun Kelly, who is usually on the receiving end of the heaves, tied with Don Jackson for second place with a score of 16.

In the place and drop-kicking, an upset was scored, when Joseph P. Carey, Jr. '37, swept them both, winning the dropkicking by 56 to 43, and the placement by 56 to 54.

Inasmuch as the cups originally donated for these contests specify that they be held during fall practice, medals will be given the winners instead.
