Although they rallied strongly and scored four runs in the last half of the ninth, the Jayvees missed victory by a single tally in yesterday's game with the Holy Cross Junior Varsity. One man was left on base when the last Crimson batter fouled out, ending the game 8-7 in the Crusaders' favor.
Harvard's ninth inning rally started when George Tittman tripled to right with two men on base, and later scored on Wilson's single. Wilson then stole home for the fourth run of the inning.
Proctor Avon pitched eight innings for the Crimson and his place was taken by Campagna in the eighth. The Purple also used two pitchers. Many Crimson runners were left on base, and the team failed to capitalize on Holy Cross' four errors.
