INTEREST HIGH IN NEW MASTER OF ED. DEGREE

A marked interest in the new degree of Master of Teaching has been shown, it was revealed yesterday by Henry W. Holmes '03, dean of the Graduate School of Education. A total of 66 have signed up for the course among whom are 17 Radcliffe graduates.

As a partial result of the degree, registrations in the Education School have shown a rise from 200 to 250 with the probability that more are yet to come. Registrations in the school were held open a week longer than in the other departments of the University.

As a result of the increase in the Graduation School and in other departments total registrations in the University have risen from 7870 in 1935 to 1970 for this year.

The new degree in teaching embraces a three year course with equal emphasis on the science of pedagogy and on further study in the subject or subjects to be taught.
