Dr. David Mason Little, Class of 1918, has been appointed Secretary to the University by vote of the Harvard Corporation, it was announced yesterday.
Dr. Little's duties will be primarily to assist President Conant in bringing together the different aspects of the University and relating the activities of Harvard to the general public and the alumni. The title of Secretary to the University has not been used for some years, but is revived by this appointment.
Many Positions
Dr. Little has held many important positions in the University. Last year he was Assistant Director of the Tercentenary Celebration and was former Executive Secretary of the Harvard Endowment Fund. Other positions which he has also had are Assistant Dean of the College, Tutor and Instructor in English. Since 1933 he has been Curator of the Theatre Collection in Widener Library.
Besides these offices, Dr. Little has gained some note as an author, having written the introductory section to "The Education of the Modern Boy", and was editor of "Pineapples of Finest Flavor", a selection of letters by the actor, Garrick.
