Bruce Bliven, editor of the New Republic, will face Clark M. Eichelberger, national director of the League of Nations Association, in a debate this evening on the question, "Resolved, That the United States should apply sanctions." The meeting, sponsored by the Liberal Club, will take place at 8.30 o'clock in Emerson D.
They Cry Peace, Peace
Mr. Bliven, who will take the negative side of the question, has made a thorough study of the subject, particularly in view of the urgent situation now facing the Congress of the United States. He has written a series of articles entitled "They Cry Peace, Peace", and has just returned from a tour of the country in an effort to determine the sentiment of the people in various sections.
Mr. Eiehelberger, upholding the affirmative side of the question, is an authority on world affairs. Recently he was awarded the Cross of the Legion of Honor by the French Government for distinguished service in the war and for contributing to the cause of international understanding by his speeches and writing.
